Get ready, Denton — Burnett “Captain Jack” Watson is bringing his soulful sound and high-energy performance to the 28th Annual Denton Blues Festival!
A Texas-born blues vocalist with a sound rooted in authentic blues and soul, Captain Jack is known for his powerful voice, signature squall, and the kind of stage presence made for a day of live blues in Quakertown Park.
A Texas Blues Story
Captain Jack's connection to the blues started early. He formed his first blues band at just 14 years old and has spent the years since developing a style that has drawn comparisons to blues greats Z.Z. Hill, Bobby “Blue” Bland, and Little Milton.
Along the way, he has shared stages and opened for an impressive lineup of artists, including Little Milton, Willie Clayton, Wilson Meadows, Sir Charles Jones, TK Soul, and Bobby Patterson.
His music career includes the 2010 album Brand New Man and singles such as That Right Kind of Loving and Real Deal. Today, Captain Jack continues his journey as an independent artist, bringing blues, soul, faith, and unmistakable energy to every performance.
